@njx58, I wonder if this has been your experience. Do you think it is more difficult for men? I'm curious if you have thoughts about why some patients are not given enough information.
Osteoporosis is a neglected malady but has been for a long time. The disease didn't even get a new class of drugs for thirty plus years. You could say since the 50s but bisphosphonates became more common in the 70s. Do you think the doctors aren't telling what they know,
or that they just don't know. I've seen a lot of endocrinologist and they have all been good. I had a much more difficult time getting cancer care.

@gently Definitely more difficult for men because doctors don't even think about it! I had a compression fracture, not from a fall, and my orthopedist said nothing about bone density. It didn't even enter his mind. And then my GP didn't know anything more than "take Fosamax." I feel bad for the people who listen to their doctors and get the wrong treatment.

I feel like every GP should attend a seminar on osteoporosis treatment protocol, becase some of them are working off information they learned before anabolics even existed.
