@njx58 I absolutely agree with you. All I got from my doctor was, you have osteoporosis and your numbers are bad so you don't want to wait to start on meds. I have many patients who do well on Prolia and you can stay on it indefinitely. I told her she could verify if my insurance would cover it but I wasn't going to make a decision yet. Since that appointment, I have been reading and watching a bunch of utube videos. This forum has been a wealth of information! It is overwhelming and frustrating trying to sort through all the information.

@njx58, I wonder if this has been your experience. Do you think it is more difficult for men? I'm curious if you have thoughts about why some patients are not given enough information.
Osteoporosis is a neglected malady but has been for a long time. The disease didn't even get a new class of drugs for thirty plus years. You could say since the 50s but bisphosphonates became more common in the 70s. Do you think the doctors aren't telling what they know,
or that they just don't know. I've seen a lot of endocrinologist and they have all been good. I had a much more difficult time getting cancer care.
