That is strange. I suppose the trip and its discomfort could have triggered something that was going to happen anyway. It sounds like a neuropathy of some sort. Those conditions seem hard to diagnose and treat and they can just develop and can be a symptom of another disease. If the nerve disorder is a symptom of an autoimmune disease, that disease can be difficult to diagnose if you do not have the expected blood markers. However, the biomarkers may not be detectable or even present in your presentation of the disease. I have Sjögren’s, but none of the biomarkers, for example. The drugs for neuropathy, which it sounds like you tried, also do not seem to help everyone. It sounds like you have a lot of pain. Why did your doctors not continue to use the higher strength NSAIDs? You should not have to suffer with so much pain if they help. Have your doctors tried a course of prednisone? I imagine they did with all you have been through. have you tried acupuncture? I go once a month because the effects are not permanent, but it helps me a lot. I also exercise every day and that helps a lot. It sounds like you get physical therapy can you tolerate Pilates or Yoga? I tried various dietary supplements, but did not find them useful. But some folks swear by them.
