I had a year of chemo.I didn't use a cold cap. I lost my hair, but it started coming back in about 4 months. It was curly and the best hair I have ever had. The curls disappeared after a few hairuts and I still miss them.. My hair is good now. I've let it grow long so I can wear it back which makes life so much easier. I was 78 wheen I lost my hair. Now I'm 85. I hated wigs. I mostly wore scarves.

@raebaby I lost my pre chemo natural waves to post chemo curls. Then the curls turned to waves as came back as it got longer I guess the weight of it as it grew may have caused the curls to disappear?? I have not been able to manage my hair now that it's almost straight. I haven't had a perm since the 80's but I've had 6 or 7 hair cuts since end of chemo Jan 29 2025. It is now thicker than it has been in years so that's an unexpected blessing as it's was "fine as frog's hair" for the last 30 yrs. I was 74 at pan can dx. I'm considering a perm if I don't have to do chemo again. My Ca19-9 is high but we can't biopsy nodules until they grow more. So I'm not sure if it's PC or lung cancer. If PC in the lungs I may not have to do chemo again. So I'm not worrying about a perm just yet. Good luck with the ever-changing hair post chemo & anesthesia ❤️
