I feel you as am going through a similar situation and have been so fearful and my heart beating fast. Checking my dr. App all the time for results of PET .
When you got a blood test how can that show anything to do with cancer?
I got PET results back and sending me to pulmonary doctor. The pet showed activity on speculated nodule about 1". But it can't show if cancer or something else.
My thoughts are with you and knowing PET results matched anxiety down a little. I hope you find out soon to know what if anything comes next

Welcome @debvs, This is understandably a stressful time for you, maybe one of the most stressful. It's not easy to wait for results and wait for appointments, all while your head is jumping ahead to the worst possible scenarios. Try to take a deep breath and know that it sounds like your doctor are taking the appropriate next steps.
There are many different types of blood tests related to cancer detection. It's getting harder to keep track of them all. I had one when I was first diagnosed that looked for tumor cells that were shedding into the blood stream. That was only ordered after I had a biopsy and I knew that my mass was cancerous.
Do you have an appointment with the pulmonologist scheduled yet?
