Hair loss after parathyroid surgery

I had hyperparathyroid surgery 5 weeks ago. Before that I had a lot of hair loss that was just one of the symptoms I was having. I'm noticing I still have hair loss. After reading upon it it does say that you can continue to have hair loss however hopefully within six months to a year it should stop along with hair coming back. I surely hope so. My major complaint before the surgery was hair loss, constantly feeling tired and severe bone pain. Feeling a lot better now. Only thing I still have is hair shedding. Hope this eventually stops like it says.

@smith1217 hello, I am so happy for you because the other symptoms you had are better, and you are feeling good now.
I had one parathyroid removed in 2008 I couldn’t believe how fast I felt better after the surgery.
I believe hair relies on hormones, and having a parathyroid gland that is not functioning normally messes with the hormones.
While hair loss can be very annoying, I believe that your body is still recovering from the effects of having that gland’s disease.
Stress may make things worse, so you may want to focus on something else. Your body will take care of the rest.
