Seems a big jump like that should get some further testing. I had a big jump almost double, but still stayed below 4, PCP said no big deal it's under 4. I thought that it wasn't good, but screwed up and listen to PCP. About 18 months later semen had a bit of blood. Went to urologist and long story shortened up had prostate cancer moderately aggressive with cribforms. Had prostate removed and pathology shows good chance of BCR.
What does UFHPTI mean in above post?

Sorry @diverjer I sometimes forget about abbreviations.

UFHPTI: University of Florida Health Proton Therapy Institute. It is located and Jacksonville Florida. A huge complex with 5 Proton Gantries. They have been doing proton radiations since 2006.

Yes, it seems most PCPs are clueless when it comes to PSA and PCa. My PCP has her staff look at ordinary bloodwork and only if something is way out of whack does my PCP get involved. Her staff didn't seem to know that a jump from 3.22 to 4.37 in a years time was significant. I did my own research and ended up having to send several portal messages to my PCP, (the staff actually handles messages) and finally 2 phone calls to her office before I got a message directly from my PCP saying. "Sorry I missed your messages, I'm going to refer you to a urologist for a chat about this" This played out over almost 3 months, and it was almost 6 months from the blood test results until I had a consultation with the urologist, new blood test, PSA had jumped to 5.1, MRI, then biopsy, then final diagnosis.
