Hello all. My 94 year old husband died this year from stage 4 prostate cancer. All I can say is it was a horrible death. I know because I stayed with him for months prior to his death. His doctor prescribed two different medications still in clinical trials. I know he wanted to die and he did. My understanding about mayoclinic/connect was no medical info. That we would support each other. Indeed, I received support before he died and in my still ongoing grief. We were married 42 years.

Perhaps all these comments are from prostate cancer specialists. Peace to all.

@chesley
My father died of prostate cancer at 88. I remember the day he told me Lupron stopped working, and that was the only drug Available. He had an Incredible pain tolerance. He had his teeth ground down and crowned without Novacaine. Then came home and had dinner with us when I was a teenager.

He was on so much morphine for the last few weeks before he died that he could not communicate. The pain was that extreme from bone metastasis.

I understand your husband’s Horrible death experience. It almost makes one think that all states should have assisted dying options.

@chesley kind thoughts and prayers to you!
