@nancyclare - I do not have diverticulitis and have not had a sigmoidectomy. However, after a prolapse surgery I had a UTI, which is evidently common after this type of surgery. I was put on nitrofurantoin (Macrobid) and got a terrible rash. My surgeon then changed me to another UTI medicine.
Does nitrofurantoin (Macrobid) not work for you, or do you have a reaction to it?

@lisalucier it doesn’t work for me. I’m resistant to it. Have an appointment with my urologist on September 25 and I’m hoping that they can help me.
