@danilo1m Hello. Did you ever consider PAE prostate artery Embolization? The PAE procedure is a cutting-edge, non-surgical intervention designed to shrink an enlarged prostate gland. Instead of cutting or removing tissue, an interventional radiologist makes a tiny puncture in the wrist or groin.
Using advanced imaging guidance, a microscopic catheter is navigated directly to the arteries supplying blood to the prostate.
Tiny particles are then injected to safely block this blood flow. Without a constant blood supply, the prostate gradually shrinks, relieving pressure on the urethra and significantly improving urinary symptoms.
Despite its proven success rate and inclusion in national medical guidelines, many men still harbor concerns based on outdated surgical comparisons. Let us separate fact from fiction. Like everything else, it works with many men and some men not.

@danilo1m I had Greenlight in 2012 because it was the least bloody and had the shortest catheter time. Greenlight was the rage in 2012. My prostate grew back and by 2022, was causing blood in the urine after running! The regrown prostate was slamming into the bladder neck during running! So 13 weeks ago, I had Holep. Recovery has been a total breeze. No pain at any stage post Holep. Catheter out at hour 44th, just before I left hospital. Stopped wearing Depends during the day, on day 34, and now don't even wear them for sleeping. I did much research before deciding on Holep as the most THOROUGH in cleaning up the enlarged prostate. Unless I live to 150 YO, I won't need another Holep! The "plumbing" was fixed the moment the catheter was removed - NIAGARA FALLS has returned!
Greenlight is considered "outdated" in 2026 as there have been more refined prostate reduction procedures. Holep involves totally peeling out the tissues inside the prostate capsule. So what is left is just the capsule, the size of a small walnet. No tissue left inside to regrow! ALL the other procedures involve some sort of cutting a channel eg Greenlight, but obviously that channel will be blocked again by regrowth. The prostate will always keep growing back as long as one is alive! I noticed the urologist who did my Greenlight, is promoting the newer procedures on line, with no mention of Greenlight he practised 14 years ago.
