I am also sorry to hear about your issues with neuropathy. I have ideopathic neuropathy and they keep saying that means they do not know the cause...My response is "are you really looking for it"? The answer in my case after 3 neurologists is NO. I am 76 years old take no meds, no comorbidities, excellent blood tests. My only issues are osteoporosis osteoarthritis and neuropathy. Of all of the issues the WORST is this neuropathy. It started in 2024 and I have NOT found any neurologist who is digging for the answers. I am in BOSTON not in the middle of nowhere! I am going to MGH and Newton Wellesley not some tiny hometown hospital. It started in my toes and is now up to my knees. I am so discouraged.

@lindamaegirl same here since 2023. All tests negative still unbearable pain in feet,shins and calves. Now extending to the knees too. PCP calls it idiopathic neuropathy and keeps prescribing Pregabalin which doesn’t help one bit…very very frustrating…
@lindamaegirl I agree there appears to be little research that is looking into the root cause of neuropathy.

@lindamaegirl 50% neuropathy is diagnosed as idiopathic after all possible causes and testing are negative. If a cause can’t be proven it is called idiopathic. Usually the end result or ensuing treatment(s) is the same regardless of cause.
