@barbarav1 Yes I am trying to avoid Si Joint fusion, but currently my spine surgeon is thinking I need spine fusion. That I will not do unless I have absolutely no options. I have read positive and negative outcomes from SI joint fusion patients. Some say they were back to running in 6 months. It is true the SI joints move, but only like 2-4 millimeters. I have been in pain for a year now, and I don’t think it is coming from my spine. I did have an SI joint injection that didn’t help, but I have read SI fusion patients say that it didn’t help them either. My x-rays and MRI both say I have degenerative changes in my SI joints. I real feel like my left joint is hypermobile. Plus I feel like I have damaged the ligaments around that area. I’m 58 and have played baseball every summer for 50 years until this summer. It makes sense that all that forceful twisting would cause that degeneration. I will definitely try PRP before any fusion, but I’m not that hopeful as I may have damaged myself beyond conservative treatment. Thanks for your information! I have an appointment this coming Wednesday with an SI joint specialist at the Illinois Bone and Joint Institute. I will keep everyone updated.
