I am female, about ten years older than you. I also had a bicuspid aortic valve and severe stenosis. Apparently, these valve malformations are genetic. My surgeon told me that because it was bicuspid it could not be repaired; also, that this type of valve advances the development of stenosis ( narrowing) faster than a tricuspid valve. I had open heart surgery in April this year to replace my aortic valve with a bio valve. It took me 3.5 months to be 100%. Good luck on your journey ( and stay off the courts ).

I am female and also born with bicuspid aortic valve which was replaced in 1996 and again in 2018. Exercise ability improved greatly after replacement. Mine was very leaky instead of stenotic and replaced with mechanical first time. Scar tissue finally caused its failure 22 years later. Now have tissue valve since 2018.
