Hi @lindalew ! I don't crochet any longer, haven't for years because of arthritis. But I have, and do, experience heart palpitations. I have Afib as well as lung issues and different smells or ordors that can trigger my palpitations and other symptoms you describe. Another thing I'm thinking about is if you look down when you are crocheting, sometimes when I'm looking down, reading, on cell phone, etc, I get a funny feeling that will go into the palpitations if I don't look up when I start feeling that way. I'm not sure why on that, some thoughts are that if I'm not paying attention to how I'm sitting, I have more difficulty breathing. Also, sometimes it is my eyes, if my glasses are off I get a dizzy, nauseated feeling. Sometimes it could be a pinched nerve in my neck. I don't know why these things are connected with me, and I'm not saying these things are what's going on with you, just explaining my similar experiences and maybe something for you to go on in figuring out what is going on. Teresa has some very good questions about your overall health and if you experience these symptoms at other times too. If you haven't, I would encourage you to talk with your doctor about these symptoms.

I have found I have to get up every hour of crocheting to do my T-Tapp exercises on U Tube. OMG do they ever help. She has this one exercise to stretch your hand and fingers to do a few exercises to get the blood flowing without jumping around. It has helped me so much. Drink more water.

@banamax72

Earlier this month you mentioned practicing T-Tapp exercises on Youtube. I looked them up and have been practicing them as well. It really is a very gentle exercise program that feels really good. Thanks for the suggestion!

Teresa

Don't you just love these exercises. I stop and do them about every hour and a half when Im crocheting. I don't crochet in the summer time.

@banamax72, I am part of a Prayer Shawl group at my Church. We knit and we crochet. Some of the ladies have shared about their hurting hands.. I will be meeting with them on next Wednesday and I can't wait to share this with them!
Thank you for sharing these exercises with us:-) I just tried and they do feel good to me.

@lindalew, I will ask, also if anyone has experienced any of the symptoms that you have mentioned.

Rosemary

@banamax72 Yes, I do love the exercises - while I don't crochet of knit, I spend a lot of time in front of a computer (I work from my home transcribing for a doctor) and the T-Tapp exercises are my "breaks" from typing. I enjoy the music and the isometric exercises (especially the Hoe-Down).

Teresa

She has exercises for everything that hurts. They really take the hurt away. Even sitting and hand excercises.

I met with my prayer Shawl Ladies. They all nodded in agreement that have varying degrees of hand and wrist pain. I shared one on the hand exercises and we did some together. They were very interested, and appreciative.
I like them because they feel good.
Thank you for sharing.
