I've been taking CoQ10 for > 6 yrs. with CKD. No statins! My triglycerides have improved. My cardiac ejection fraction has improved significantly. Due to CKD, and associated low hemoglobin, I continue to experience fatigue.

"The ACTIVED version of CoQ10 is known as ubiquinol. That makes ubiquinol a CRUCIAL antioxidant as well. And that can make the difference between life and death if you’ve got chronic heart failure. This “advanced” form of CoQ10 has been on shelves since 2007… But most folks have NEVER heard of it. At recommended doses of 50 to 200 mg per day (ideally taken before dinner) ubiquinol has shown to be PERFECTLY safe. "

"...roughly 12 million Japanese people use ubiquinones as the medication of choice for management of cardiovascular diseases, supplied via more than 250 commercially available preparations. Ubiquinone is touted as an effective treatment for CHF, cardiac arrhythmias, hypertension, and in reducing hypoxic injury to the myocardium. Other claims include increases in exercise tolerance, stimulation of the immune system, and counteraction of the aging process. Ubiquinone has not been approved for therapeutic use in the United States; however, it is available as a food supplement.1 https://www.drugs.com/npp/ubiquinone.html "

"CoQ10 has been linked to so many wonderful benefits that it is hard to make a short list, but let’s take a moment to hit some of the highlights. First, CoQ10 supplementation has been used to reduce high blood pressure and heart failure; in fact, the evidence for both of these conditions is particularly strong.167 Ayer, Anita, Peter Macdonald, and Roland Stocker. “CoQ10 Function and Role in Heart Failure and Ischemic Heart Disease.” Annual Review of Nutrition 35.0 (2015): 175-213."

@gzr63 I've been taking CoQ-10 for a few years. I wasn't sure what the benefits were. Just that it was good for heart health. I've a slow heart beat and I've had a pacemaker since 2020. My frustration is that I get pains in my left chest. I go to the hospital and I check out as OK/fine. Frustrating!! It can be scary but frustrating. Feeling silly for taking up the medical systems time even though I'm assured that I'm doing the right thing.
