@ray666 I have always had very high arches which meant even in my younger days, I could not wear those very flat and cute sandals - i had to have a good arch support. Now that I have self diagnosed neuropathy. the arch is giving me a lot of tingle/pain and it turns out according to what I have read, that this is very common but I am not sure why. I got expensive arch support inserts in my walking shoes and they help a bit - Happily I do not have balance issues although I must admit I sort of wander all over the sidewalk like a drunken sailor when I walk. I have the most trouble in my left foot but everything wrong with me always happens on the left side which is good since I am right handed. I am not sure if my arch will go flat or go higher - I will just have to wait and see what is next.

Good morning, @revdorth. If I remember correctly, my mother was told I have severely flat feet when I was in grade school, and that was a long, long time ago, when mastodons still roamed the Central Valley. I took up long-distance running in my 40s, at the height of the so-called running boom. I continued running (long distances) until my flat feet hurt so bad I sought the help of an orthopedist. That's was in the 1980s. He fitted me for my first pair of orthotics, and I've been wearing orthotics ever since––so many years now that I cannot––and my feet most certainly cannot––live without them. Friends have said, "It's too bad, Ray, that you ever got started with orthotics." But I did, I've tried going without them. No dice! I'm afraid I'm hooked.
// Have a wonderful day, @revdorth. Cheers! –Ray (@ray666)
