I’m 76. Just completed 5 SBRT. I had a 6 month Lupron injections on April 30. I had a 3+4 Gleason. Had a Turp a year ago which the biopsy showed maybe some cancer. Through 9 months of MRI, perineal biopsy etc with concern it had metastasized. So I started the Lupron out of fear. Then found no metastasized anything. The side effects of the radiation have been minimal, some bowl issues that cleared with anti-diarrhea pills.

The side effects of Lupron are another story. I can handle the night sweats, foggy brain, all joints aching & lack of energy as I’ve always weight lifted and continue to force myself to work out (which always make me feel better). But I’m worried about muscle bone & sex drive loss. My original RO wanted to do the lower dose plus 18 months ADT.

After reading up and my age and having lived Lupron for going on 5 months, there is no F-ing way I will go on it again or ever consider 18-24 months, I’d be a shell of a person. I’ve also read lately that some studies without Lupron that SBRT still works. I see my RO in 3 months for a PSA and follow up.
