How long does it take to get your Decipher test results usually?

The plot thickens. Apparently the 3+4 sample they sent did not have enough tissue for testing. My doctor had to approve sending a sample from the 3+3 core. They said that they advised Veracyte of this on 8/24 so something fell through the cracks. They are contacting Veracyte today and will send a sample of the 3+3.
I questioned them if doesn't really invalidate the whole purpose of the test. If they aren't testing the more aggressive cancer cells then the Decipher score will not reflect the actual situation. If I make a treatment decision based on a Decipher score that is lower than what it would have been with 3+4 sample I am rolling the dice.
What a mess. Now I face having to make a treatment plan that might be more aggressive than warranted.

Decipher testing is expensive, insurer’s typically won’t cover for six’s, although it will still give same information from that material. They don’t need the seven, but is standard to send highest Gleason. In your case with a 7 and not enough material they can probably get it approved.

@keithl56 I’m no expert but would also push for testing to be done on the more aggressive sample.
I had my biopsy 7/28 and Prolaris test results 2.5 weeks later. No one seems to know the status of my hereditary testing also done at biopsy though. Best of luck to you
