@lala56, The three year recommendation is only for resected tumors in stages I to IIIa. For the rest of us, the plan is to stay on Tagrisso until recurrence, progression, or intolerable side effects.

I was initially diagnosed at stage IIb and had an upper right lobectomy followed by chemo and radiation. About two years later it metastasized to my brain. Following brain surgery and radiation I began taking Tagrisso. I was cancer free for over three years until I had small recurrence in that same part of my brain. That was treated that with one more round of radiation. Unfortunately that led to brain necrosis. My doctors battled that for over a year before it started spreading rapidly and new tumors formed, again in the same area. Early this year I went to MD Anderson for another full open brain surgery. that was followed by 10 rounds of low level radiation to that region of my brain. since the cancer has never shown up anywhere else the decision was made to increase my dosage of to 160MG per day.

Now that you have some context, I'm doing fine. I just keep rolling with whatever life hands me. I'm still working full time at a job I love, and I keep in touch with friends and family.

@flusshund Thank you for sharing your journey. You're right , we take each battle as it comes. It's amazing to hear what you have gone thru and sounding positive . It's a better alternative as one can easily think the opposite way. Hurry to your resilience and perseverance.
I've gone back to work too, helping out mainly . It helps with keeping my mind busy and engaged. All the best to you and keep up the fight. Warm hugs and prayers.
