@merwin Aging in place with friends can be a choice. Your church, your neighbors, and your house. Maybe your daughters should come live with you. We have daughters that live within a few hours drive but that is far enough that we don't just 'drop by'. We have good medical care and close friends that can be considered family. Our choice is to age in place in the home we have lived in for over 30 years.

Thank you for your response—I appreciate that you read my ‘story.’ I’m very glad that both of my daughters are in good work situations, and can support themselves. I don’t wish for them to have to come back to live with me, but if circumstances would change, their bedrooms are still vacant. It’s this time of life transitions that are confounding me right now—how to make the right decisions.
