@rugi53 Yes. It hit me today that one way or the other, I will be dealing with a corticosteroid all my life. I have corneal transplants in both eyes due to an inherited condition, and since they are transplanted tissue (albeit tiny), I have to use steroid drops. I went off of ocular prednisone during my original bout with PMR and went on a gentler steroid instead. My very smart opthalmologist has retired, and I am not sure that I am comfortable with his replacement knowing how to deal with the delicate balance. My experience has shown me that most doctors just tell me to go off of prednisone to prevent my intraocular pressure from rising. Not an option!
