I am suspect of any ice cream that uses "gums" such as Bryers does. Check the ingredients. There is a scientific link between gums and destruction or change in the gut microbiome. There is an anecdotal/hypothesis link of leaky gut and PMR Could damage of the microbiome and damage to the gut lining (mucosa) be hand in hand (??). Not sure but....... I am simply staying away from all that is not good for body. My mantra is "is it necessary" in the food (artificial additive, flavorings, and preservatives-- they are worse than ever in our foods. I used to think the 80s was bad for this stuff). That is easier said than done but I guarantee there are better ice creams out there! https://www.thehealthyhomeeconomist.com/xanthan-guar-locust-bean-tara-gellen-gum/

I agree with all the unnecessary ingredients in our foods. I found breyers to be least added ingredients in commercial ice creams. In fact I thought they originally, or maybe still, had just cream and sugar varieties. I am lucky to live in Cincinnati where we have a home based brand, Graeters, which is all natural in most flavors.
