@bjk3 Wow, thank you, Barb, for all the suggestions! As I think you guessed, I've tried many of them over the years. As this knee pain has taught me, bone-on-bone pain is tough to make go away. It's different with soft-tissue pain, where stuff like Lidocaine can be of help. I know the KT strips, much like my old knee wrap, try to hold the boney stuff from tap-tapping and rubbing more than is necessary. That's why, so far, I can't tell if the KT strips are any better than my old strap. But I'm still giving the strips a good try. We'll see … Have a pain=free, Wednesday, Barb! –Ray (@ray666)

Thank you, Ray, for the wishes for a pain-free Wed.! It actually has been, from the standpoint of physical condition...however, I'm strung tighter than a brand-new tightrope, all thanks to my dog's impatience to get home from his Spa Day. Some days he acts more like a spoiled, overtired, hangry toddler in desperate need of about a 3-hour nap. That's today. But all's well now, at last! Aaahhhh....
Reading back over the last few posts in this thread and taking into account the strips you are using are over-the-counter, that might explain their less-than-hoped-for result. I have these, as well - also from Walmart, and they work well for me when the need is less intense and the condition tends to be temporary and not a more permanent problem. Remembering back, the strips my PT used came off a large roll, a little wider, and would be cut to the size that actually pulled my shoulder into a corrected position. These could be 12-15"long, maybe longer, and she would round the corners with her scissors. As you and @domiha and @njed have said, one can expect about 4 days of wear before having to replace them. The professional grade are much the same but I did have them last 5-6 days on occasion. Maybe you can inquire of your P.T. the possibility of obtaining and trying the professional grade KT strips? I would think that these rolls could be purchased through a P.T. but the cost would likely be through the roof.
Wouldn't it be great if Mayo had an online pharmaceutical warehouse with safe, professional-grade products that actually have a chance of duplicating their counterparts that the practitioners use?
