89yrs. Same thing complained about his lower back hurting. I took him to the ER and they did a MRI. Cancer was in his jawline down to his lower pelvis area. He had a large mass in one upper shoulder area and a mass in his lower spine area. Nodules in his lungs. He immediately started ADT treatment. zoladex, xstandi and xgevia. Worked well for about 2 1/2 years. pSA stayed low. But This past Oct during a PET scan nodules were popped up on his lungs. And growth on his pelvis area. Doc recommended Pluvicto. As cancer became castrate. Unfortunately, after the 3rd session his PSA levels remained elevated. So my Dad decided to stop treatment. And is now on hospice care and only takes lupron. Chemo is out question because of his age and condition.
Good luck on your journey. There plenty of options available. Hopefully, they have caught his cancer early. My father was already stage 4 metastatic when it was diagnosed.
I hope this helps.

If your dad was younger, they would put them on triplet therapy right away.
ADT, an ARPI and chemotherapy
The easiest drugs and treatments to manage at this age are
Orgovyx, Nubeqa and Pluvicto
Depending on his health, they may not be able to do this. If you have really good health, they could follow this procedure.
These days they can use Pluvicto Instead of chemotherapy and it is easier on the person. It has been approved by the FDA, not all Doctors are following it.
You have to be proactive to get the right treatments these days.
My father died in intense pain at 88 from prostate cancer. All they had was Lupron back then, The drugs they have today and the treatments they have can make a big difference. It could extend life quite a bit.
