Reclast infusion side effects?

@lwidstrand I have had two Reclast infusions (2025 and 2026) and noticed weight gain with this second one in early August. I was on a steroid back in May for severe lower back pain, so I guess it's possible it could actually be from that...or perhaps a combination of the two. I did gain a few pounds on Fosamax when I was on it years ago, but eventually it leveled off a bit. As soon as I stopped Fosamax, the weight came right off. It's mostly in my abdominal area, which is where it was while on Fosamax. I cannot get the scale to move no matter what I do. My endo had never heard of that, but he said if patients don't mention it to him, of course he wouldn't know. It's very frustrating, especially knowing that I have one more infusion to go in 2027.

@harborside24 honestly, if your only “negative” symptoms from Reclast infusion is a few pounds weight gain, that is really not a bad thing. I do know weight to some people is very important and I am not attempting to make fun of a few pounds! The potential side effects from Reclast is far worse than weight gain and I know from experience. Hopefully your weight will level out in time or go back to your desired weight! My endocrinologist, neurologist and rheumatologist all says none of my symptoms are related to the infusion, yet I experienced none prior to the infusion!

@harborside24 I am in my 18th month after having Reclast. My weight is still high. 15 pounds overweight. Nothing has changed. I have fat everywhere. Places on my body that have never been fat. I thought by now I would see some improvement.
