I grew up on a farm in the 1950's with 40 acres of Douglas Fir trees on a dirt road. We had a little house and a barn. Summers were so peaceful with just me and Mom and 4 dogs, 6 cats and kittens, my horse, Ginger and our 400 lb. black Angus bull, Woody and the black Angus cows. It was peaceful and quiet. We picked wild black berries, huckle berries, salmon berries and lots of wild flowers. Sometimes we had picnics by the little stream. Everything was so safe. The nearest neighbors lived a mile away. Sometimes the only person we ever saw was the mail lady when she delivered the mail in her own car. She was so nice and always stopped and visited with us. It was a very pleasant memorable time in my life.

Sounds like you're describing the lovely Pacific N.W., where I live. Also sounds idealic. ☺️
I used to pick all those berries, and when we lived at the coast I picked Salmon berries too.
Still harvesting Blackberries right now. Who wants pie? 🥧
