I'd keep an eye on mRNA research. It was originally aimed at cancer treatment before the fast pivot to COVID vaccines in 2021, but the work continues.

Yes- that is the area where the true "cure" will eventually happen or at least very, very long remissions. Just yesterday this was in the news :
