Same situation for me. Although I did not know that I had Hashimoto's until I read the pathology report. Of course it made a lot of sense after the fact.
Since 2023 I have had one radioactive iodine treatment for residual tissue.
In 2024 and this week I had two trips to UCSF for another RI treatment because my thyroid globulin antibody continue to stay ~ 25.
Both times I went through the diet, and the stress of thinking cancer had returned only to find both times on the scans that there was no cancer or residual tissue.
I did a deep dive yesterday and even with a thyroidectomy we can still have thyroiditis if we previously had Hashimoto's. This inflammation can affect your thyroid globulin anti antibody test. At least that's what I found doing my research. I'm meeting with my endocrinologist in the next couple weeks to see what he thinks.
