Neither my husband nor I have kidney disease, take bisphosphonates (and I never will d/t the many problems related to them), nor are we currently on antibiotics. I know most mineral supplements need to be separated by at least two hours from other meds for absorption reasons. As far as GI symptoms, if that would happen, simply stopping the magnesium should clear that up in a short time. I’ve been taking magnesium taurate and magnesium glycinate for a few weeks and have had no problem with those. I don’t go crazy and overdo the amount I take because like the saying goes, you can have too much of a good thing.

As far as no high quality studies with it being used in dementia patients, that may be true. But when the dementia patient is 90 years old and in reasonably good health except for being in an advanced stage of vascular dementia, I don’t expect to get those high quality studies in time. I just wondered if anyone on this forum had any experience with that one particular formulation magnesium L-threonate.
