Hello all,

I am the parent of a daughter who has been dealing with lymphedema since the age of 12 and now she is 21. In her initial diagnosis, we we told that there was nothing that could be done and she would have to live with it for the rest of her life. It was devastation for both of us to hear. In the mean time, I have been supporting and encouraging her to do everything possible for management. Her lymphedema is in the lower extremities (thighs, calf, feet) in both of her legs. I woke up in the middle of the night and saw the Mayo Clinic infomercial on the lymphovenous bypass. I began to praise God because there is hope for my daughter. This is her last year in college and it has been hard on her having to walk around with enlarged legs and people not stare. I pray for her mindset and mental health daily. Any words of the next steps would be helpful for this mom. Thanks!

@ladyicg I am praying for you both, it must be a hard thing to see your child in such pain. She’s struggling and God will bless her for it. Hang in there @ladyicg @ladyicg
