@andi77 I haven't started an anabolic yet. I still need to have some tests run to rule out any other secondary causes and I may also need a cardiac clearance. My cholesterol levels have been borderline high since perimenopause and I got a CAC before starting Duavee. The CAC did show some mild calcification so I will need to start a statin ( yay-more drugs) to lower my risk of stroke/heart attack. I will meet with my NP next week to discuss this. Once all that gets sorted out I will meet with my endocrinologist in October to discuss what medication would be best for me. Such a slow process...ugh! As for in person support groups-I did look for one in my area and discovered there aren't any. I suppose I could start one. It would be nice to meet others that are in the same boat who understand what it's like to deal with this.

@soggybones
I've been taking a statin (Rosuvastatin/Crestor 10mg) for many years.
The good news is that the benefits greatly outweigh the risks. At my low dose, I have not experienced any side effects.
My CAC also showed mild calcification; it's not unusual as we age.

Unfortunately, I am jumping through hoops to try to get my cardiac clearance for Evenity.
I had two EKGs that showed "abnormal T waves." Two days ago, I did a stress test, which came out abnormal (which was very surprising as I thought I did well).
Next week I have to have a cardiac CT scan with contrast.
Ugh!!!

I did have all my secondary labs to determine cause, and I was hoping for abnormal (one time I want it) parathyroid labs as that would be an easy fix. Nope -- all normal.

I was diagnosed with my Severe Osteoporosis in the beginning of July and understand how you feel about the very long process.
It definitely contributes to an already stressful time.

Once again, wishing us the best possible outcome!
