Really, though, I'm told I won't know for another five years if I'm at the end of my treatment, quite possibly not even then. As we can see from reading the stories here.

You are correct, I suppose I should have said initial treatment but it didn't feel right. It's difficult to grasp that I, we, have a chronic disease that may or may not recur and require additional treatment(s).
