@cressida92 I have a different perspective/feelings about bronchoscope. In 1978 I had a lung fungus that could not be identified by sputum and a bronchoscope was recommended. I was told without it the fungus would continue to damage my lungs. I chose the bronchoscope that was 48 years ago. I have had many, many, many since then, no they are not pleasant but you are asleep and don’t remember anything. The most I’ve had after one is a little fever and a bit of a sore throat. Without a broncocopy treating an infection is kind of like shooting in the dark. I have had severe asthma since I was 5 years old and had maybe 40 or 50 broncocopy in my life. I’m now 75 and only diagnosed with BE this past October. I can say that a broncocopy now is a breeze compared to the ones from 1978 and a great diagnostic tool in my case.
