Hi,
Best wishes back at you.
I can't say I'm brave. I'm not brave enough to end it all and I'm only a fighter because the brain won't let go. I am actually bottling it privately.
Every day a new revelation that I have been working around another symptom materialises. I'm getting so many nails in the coffin I have enough to build a fence now!
At a guess I think a few weeks left unaided, but something in side me tells me that will come and go and I will still be trying to cheat death. It is for sure this is going to kill me, but while it tries to make up it's mind, I just push this body as hard and as fast as I can, ignoring all the warnings and doing it my way, for no other reason than this is the only option I have at the moment.
If I'm lucky enough to get a J tube fitted the fight will still continue as the rest of the body çontinues under sustained attack. My new baseline glucose has reached into the 17's mmol/l, thats around 300 US scale and never drops below. It is steadily rising by the week as the body self destructs around me while fighting what it sees as an attack.
To anyone following with this type of disease, a strong positive mental attitude is what drives me, despite knowing this is incurable and untreatable I won't give up ground easily. I believe this is what is keeping me going in the face of adversity. With every breath there is hope that something may change.
Cheers

@cheyne I am so touched by your reply! You are a real ‘hero’ to me, with your positive spirit, in the face of such a tragic prognosis! I can’t think of anybody else, in my 80 years of living, who has faced such a tragic type fate, as you are facing, and had the courage and determination to deal with it directly, as you have! I deeply admire you having a positive spirit, and you are such an inspiration to me, as I face the autonomic dysfunctions, that I’m going through! It’s a trying and difficult, unwanted journey, but it is what it is, and you have inspired me to fight back, in every way I can find, with a positive attitude! Again, wishing you the best, and thanks a million for your support!
