Ablation is crazy. I dont understand why anyone bothers with it when its effectiveness is so short. Why keep repeating same procedure and be put under?

@9yellowbox Its effectiveness, for those who are symptomatic, is priceless, and they'd tell you that even if an ablation only lasted a year it would be worth that year for the day's bother involved in ablation surgery. I'm in my fourth year, touch wood, and I know people who have been AF-free for six years or longer. I had to have two to get the four years, but that was because the first didn't completely ablate the full circle around my pulmonary veins. Second go, he found the small space he'd missed. I was highly symptomatic, and I can't begin to tell you how grateful I am to have been free of that menace for almost four years now. I would happily have another ablation, even if it only meant another year in the 'good.'
