Should you get a bone density test if on ADT for only 6 months?

Since you had kidney stones you should be very careful with Ca supplementation.
If I were you I would ask my doctor about that since Ca and D supplementation actually was never proven to help preventing bone loss.
There were no studies conducted comparing man on ADT who took Ca + D and those that did not and what is even more troubling there are some studies that show that Ca supplementation can increase coronary disease risk, kidney stones and even can have "positive" effect on PC progression.
I found about all that yesterday while doing some reading about recommended daily levels of Ca in diet and was shocked : (.

Thank you for finding these articles, my oncologist has me taking both calcium and Vitamin D. I'll be sure to discuss this with him tomorrow during our scheduled appointment. Certainly there needs to be more studies as these findings go against almost everything else I have read and I think most oncologists suggest Ca + D supplements to their patients on ADT.
