@carlsbadguy I was told that Medicare may not pay for the DEXA. But once I was scanned and found positive for osteoporosis there was no problem with Medicare paying. If you have osteoporosis you will likely be treated for osteoporosis . I was and am. The only way to tell if treatment is working is by a yearly scan. I will have another in November. I believe the cash price for the scan would have been $600 or so. My take on this after going through it all, is that a DEXA absolutely needs to be done, even if you have to pay for it yourself. Which I fully expected I would have to do, but in the end did not.
