@happytoseeyou hey, there, glad you’re doing okay on .625mg - and cutting to .5mg was okay for me. Then I was going to cut to half of that - don’t ask me what that would be! But my doctor told me to just go to .25 mg and I did and after about a week or so didn’t really need it anymore to get to sleep, but then I did have some sleepless nights & tried doxepin that left me really sleepy during the day so back to Ambien, but that’s leaving me too groggy, especially if I take a little bit more after 2am. Starting to taper now. Like you, I’d rather not use anything and really when I was done with the Ativan I didn’t feel that bad even without much sleep. Trazodone didn’t work well for me either but my doctor said take it with 5 mg of melatonin which seems like too much. And I think you said it didn’t work that well for you Hang in there!

@berekann Thanks so much and still at .625mg, tonight will be the fifth night and have been having withdrawl, increased anxiety, but managing.. Have not cut to .50mg, because not sure if it's best to wait at least a week or should it be two, before cutting further? Also , when you got to .25mg, how long did you stay on that and did you cut further, to .125mg before stopping completely? I've heard that the end of a taper is real important and also that withdrawl can be bad after stopping the medication completely after taper is done. I see NP tomorrow and am worried that she may not refill prescription so that I can continue to taper slowly, and don't know what to do if that happens. Hope all is well.
