@patriciaschulz1950 I fully understand your mental caution on this matter. Hopefully your specialist's consultations include the possible severe consequences of not properly alleviating that continuous aggravation of the spinal nerve due to your stenosis. My team of specialists strongly suggested that only physical surgery would accomplish this. Also, increasing pain is a tremendous motivator (it was to me anyway). That, along with the hope of actually addressing the problem thus getting relief plus the avoidance of future more awful problems convinced me to pursue the surgeries. I realize everyone is unique leading to different approaches-I do not judge, especially in this matter. Just sharing my thoughts and what I pray works for me.

@patriciaschulz1950 I have has stenosis for more than 25 years.
The first surgery was highly successful at the age of 61.
The second surgery with the pins and rods from my neck to my rectal with rods as long as 20” at the age of 85 years old both surgeries where highly successful. I’m 87 now and no signs of stenosis pain.
I’d say go for it.

@patriciaschulz1950 my husband is in the same boat. He's 70 and doesn't think he would make it through the first, let alone three surgeries he needs. His stenosis and pain is getting so bad though, he is now contemplating the surgery. The pain meds just aren't working for him anymore and no doctor or pharmacy will prescribe higher doses. I hope you get the help you are looking for.
