This is very helpful and confirmed what the current pulmonologist told me. I had no symptoms and no signs of lung damage beyond bronchiectasis and yet was told I had MAC disease back in 2011, presumably based on 1 lab finding and nothing else.

Please note that usually clinical diagnosis and laboratory or other medical tests are used together to help give a complete picture for a possible diagnosis for an individual patient.
