Adrenal insufficiency

I was diagnosed with PMR. Took Prednisolone for a year then tapered off until symptoms have decreased completely. Now, I have adrenal inefficiency and taking 30 mg of hydrocortisone until my adrenal glands wake up. Doctors are not sure how long that will take. Endocrinologist is trying to taper me off hydrocortisone, but even a small decrease causes a lack of energy and brain fog. Has anyone had adrenal inefficiency and recovered or not?

@jmpuyallup Yes, I was treated with hydrocortisone twice for adrenal insufficiency after being on prednisone for GCA and tapering down to 5mg. Last time was this year when I had to restart Prednisone last August for a GCA flare after Shingrix vaccine. I just had ACTH Stimulation test and am awaiting final word from endocrinologist, but cortisol levels look good to me and I have been feeling good. I do get tired at times, but this heat we're having may be contributing. Keep your positivity, it does get better, even though things move slower than we like. Wishing you the best!
