@unrulygirl a deep pain localized in my butt. It is directly on the Ischium ( sit bone) where hamstrings tendon inserts and ischial bursa overlays that. I have had three ischial bursa injections which helped some but pain was always there. They feel the injections gave me some relief because of the swelling inside that area. Stairs hurt, walking on an incline and it hurts BAD to sit!!!!

@nancyjo1490 I have this as well and wondered about having a cortisone injection. I’ve had gluteal tendinopathy and then a hip replacement and now in recovery I’ve developed hamstring tendinopathy as well as IT band syndrome. Cortisone never helped my gluteal tendinopathy but I have to start working again at the end of Aug and I’m desperate. I’m hoping maybe this will be a bit different and I’ll be able to sit to work while I continue with physio etc.

I've had this as well, for years and it only takes a stumble or one wrong twist to set it off. I've had the injections, but that's only a temporary fix and my rheumatologist had advised me that ultimately, adding steroids into already damaged tissue will weaken the tissue over time. And since I already have had too many steroids, I now have secondary adrenal insufficiency which requires daily prednisone. So, no more steroid shots in any joints for me. I have special purple cushions in the car, I sit on well cushioned chairs. Get some physical therapy and learn good stretching techniques. I also love sitting on an extra long heating pad that covers bitt to neck. Good luck.
