I don't know that the advice that if one dentist won't treat you, find another is very good advice. There is always a dentist somewhere who will do it for the money - good idea or not. I also have doubts about being treated at a dental school, if that is what your doctor has suggested. I took my son to the dental clinic at a local dental school - I have never seen such a disorganized, unsupervised amount of craziness - we went elsewhere for his dental surgery. I also have a good friend who is trying to get an implant done at the dental school (she is not on osteoporosis meds). She is being treated by the residents, who are full dentists and just expanding their skills or going into a specialty. It has been an awful experience - serious mistakes were made, and have to be fixed. Sounds like you are doing really well! I don't say these things to scare you, just to provide info to anyone it may help.
