Oh yes. Great minds think alike. They are very reasonable and I have been looking at them. Didn't think about the cat issue. Will have to keep the lid on at all times. If you have a recommendation for a brand or model please private message me!

@handsdown Over the years I have had several models, and the original Homedics (no longer available) was my favorite. Right now we have 2, different brands, both from Amazon. They work fine, but I must be more careful to avoid touching the bottom. I so suggest unscented dipping wax from a beauty supply store, one was delivered with a scented version and the smell was overpowering.
