@msturcken, the risk of osteonecrosis of the jaw with Evenity is small much less than Prolia. You might consider that at 6 months you've gained the most bone that you will gain from the drug. It becomes more resorptive at 6 months. It is that resorptive process that makes osteonecrosis more likely. Some bone experts are prescribing Evenity for six months. Your specialist might agree to a transition to Forteo or Tymlos. Both are medications that have no risk of osteonecrosis, are even prescribed to treat osteonecrosis, and speed and strengthen the integration of bone to the implant.
Were you on antiresorptives bisphosphonates or Prolia in years prior to Evenity?
Is your implant surgeon aware of current and past medications. I keep hearing about oral surgeons who won't perform invasive procedures for patients on antiresorptive meds
But the one's I've seen are completely unaware of the possible impact.
The risk is cited at 0.03 to 0.05% with Evenity. I wish they'd do a study of the risk percentage among those who have had dental implants.
