My hand therapist also said the swelling would likely be a year. My surgeon said he thought the swelling would likely remain, due to arthritis and post-trauma. He mentioned carpal tunnel being involved with the finger involvement, but wants to watch everything and only will intervene if it becomes lasting and impacts my functioning. Same with Dupuytren's. I am so damn happy to be pain free in the CMC area, I am just trying to be compliant with P T and I love a good hot paraffin dip!
