@ndough I have been through 3 GI's that say the same thing. And none think that diet has anything to do with MC flareups. My guy microbiome is shot. I have had chronic diarrhea 2.5 years. Budesonide did help some, more than 50% but I was still having incontinence issues every month in public. It has also weakened my spinkter muscle to 1 on a scale of 5. I had been very active outdoors, leading hikes, backpacking trips and enjoyed bicycling, and doing really cool stuff with friends. I can no longer do any of that. I am tired of using a WAG bag in the car in front of my husband or sitting on the side of the interstate, other roads, resturants, while shopping, airports, the list goes on and on. My gut microbiome is shot. I spent $3000 last fall on a plan to balance it with a program put together by a functional medicine GI doctor, well known by my primary doctor. I didn't work. I need to go extreme and get the good bacteria back in control of my gut. I see my primary today to discuss the Elemental Diet. I have drank a couple samples of the powder and am pretty sure I can handle it. AI has been dead-on everytime I ask something. It has told me what my docs will probably suggest and it been exactly the lab orders my GI and primary ordered for me, every single time!
