@artperdiem
The cost for zenpep (or creon) is huge and some insurance will only pay for creon and not zenpep for whatever reason.
I take enough creon to match the numbers of the contents in zenpep since I fall into that category. Even with insurance the co- pay is huge and there programs through Abbvie for some patients.
@artperdiem I couldn’t afford either but there is a foundation called NORD( National Organization for Rare Diseases), that you can sign up through and get meds free. I doubted it, but they came through, sent through mail by CVS Specifically. Then later picked up at local CVS. ZenPen gave me a lot gas and couldn’t tolerate. Creon effects worst.

@artperdiem - Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I moved your post here to this existing discussion about pancrelipase (Zenpep) so you could chat with others who've also had experience with this medication and its cost:

Fellow members such as @habook @fourof5zs @mutter3 and others may have ideas about what to do if the cost of the pancrelipase (Zenpep) is prohibitive. @jlharsh also may have some thoughts.
What has your doctor who wanted you to take this medication say about potential alternatives?
