My husband was taking Repatha for 3 months before his symptoms began and maybe another 6 months before he just stopped taking it. It began with foot neuropathy (which he never had) then progressed to his hands where he couldn’t pick up a fork or carry a plate. From there it progressed to where he couldn’t raise his arms and finally to his knees which swelled so badly that he developed huge Bakers Cysts in both calves and could no longer walk the pain was so severe. We went to specialists who blamed it on carpel tunnel and various other conditions, but when we read a paper published by Cedars Sinai online, we knew it was the drug. Swelling diminished everywhere eventually after he quit taking it, except the severe neuropathy in his knees which remained until he received the stem cell therapy about a year later. He has totally recovered.
