@flylgw can you please explain to me what a MOCA score is? My mom had a simple hand typed paper test with about 10 things on it in her primary doctor’s office. They said she scored 8 out of 10. We don’t believe they have given her the correct test.

@dmash3 IMHO, the best thing to do is to ask the PCP to order neuropsych testing. It took about two hours (lots of breaks), my husband really enjoyed it, said he liked the “puzzles” best. I asked to meet with the psychologist separately, he went through each testing module- it was really eye-opening, actually stunning. Really helped me get in focus, stop denying or making light of what was happening.
He would pass the “Mini Mental” given in the MD office, but had a lot of difficulty with the testing. I asked for repeat testing after 10 years. The same testing, done by the same person, compared to the previous one really helped his PCP (and me) to plan his care.
An idea- first Google “draw a clock test”, then follow the testing prompts with your person. In 2014, my husband seemed alright to me, but the clock test was a disaster- I was astounded.
